Theme: “Advocating for Human Rights for Persons with Disabilities: Promoting Inclusion, Equality, and Empowerment”
This theme highlights the urgent need to ensure that persons with disabilities are afforded the same rights, opportunities, and dignity as everyone else. It focuses on the importance of breaking down barriers, addressing discrimination, and fostering environments where inclusion is prioritized in all aspects of life—education, employment, healthcare, and society at large.
Audience Question:
In your opinion, what are some of the most significant barriers persons with disabilities face in accessing their fundamental human rights, and how can we, as a society, work together to eliminate these barriers?
Each and everyday is chance for each one to make a change towards the rights of our brothers and sisters with disabilities. In response to the question, the core limitation towards this equality lies in attitudinal barriers from the society. In order to really get change from individuals it is important to raise awareness campaigns and advocate for the rights and privileges for persons with disabilities. By changing societal attitude it will help encourage acceptance and recognition towards rights of persons with disabilities.
In turn, this will allow for inclusive education policies that counter the current education barriers
Overall, it will take the efforts of each and everyone to lead to meaningful change towards equality, inclusion and empowerment
