BULDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE :
FBDF recognizes the complex challenges faced by rural communities, particularly women, people with intellectual disabilities, and children/youths. We address these challenges through a comprehensive range of programs focused on empowerment, inclusion, and sustainability.
As such, FBDF addresses issues surrounding imbalances between the community and persons with disabilities by supporting initiatives aimed at creating an enabling environment for persons with disabilities in order to combat variances in cultural, moral, and religious values, especially in rural communities. This includes tackling long-term unemployment, economic stagnation, and inadequate education and personal development opportunities. FBDF has observed that the causes of poverty in rural communities are deep-rooted and complex. It also focuses on empowering rural communities identify the key issues that they face and collaboratively address these issues. Therefore, FDBF shall undertake to incubate programs to improve the welfare of rural women, people living with disabilities, and children/youths by focusing on the following thematic areas:
1. Strengthening Communities:
- Thematic Advocacy: FBDF tackles specific issues affecting people with intellectual disabilities, such as rights, needs, and inclusion for those with intellectual disabilities.
- Home-Based Care and Education :We provide essential support services such as care and education to children with intellectual disabilities in their home environments.
- Media and Advocacy: FBDF utilizes radio programs and other media platforms to raise awareness about disability rights and inclusion.
- Capacity Building: We train churches, traditional leaders, and local authorities on inclusion practices to create a supportive environment.
- Partnership Development: FBDF builds partnerships with local and international organizations to maximize resources and impact.
